Senior IT Administrator
Role overview
Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior IT Administrator for a full-time position (40 hours per week). Our client is a prominent GovTech company offering a cloud-based ERP solution.
You'll be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing the organization's IT infrastructure, including virtualized environments, Windows systems, Microsoft 365 services, and end-user computing devices. This role ensures high availability, operational stability, and efficient support through proactive administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Windows Server Administration and Active Directory.
- Hands-on experience with virtual machine provisioning and virtualization platforms.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 administration and cloud identity management.
- Expertise in remote support tools and remote troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service orientation.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Azure administration or hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with automation and scripting (PowerShell is strongly preferred).
- Knowledge of ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice).
- Certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate;
- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals;
- CompTIA Server+ or Network+;
- VMware or Hyper‑V certifications.
Responsibilities

Provide, configure, and maintain virtual machines and virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, Azure, etc.).

Manage host servers, storage allocations, VM networking, snapshots, and resource optimization.

Monitor system performance, capacity, and health using industry-standard tools.

Implement patching, updates, and lifecycle management for virtualized workloads.

Troubleshoot complex VM issues involving OS, network, storage, and security layers.

Administer Windows Server environments (AD DS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).

Manage user accounts, security groups, policies, and access controls.

Perform OS-level troubleshooting, performance tuning, and patch management.

Maintain workstation standards for Windows 10/11, including imaging, deployment, and configuration baselines.

Ensure compliance with security best practices and organizational policies.

Administer Microsoft 365 services including Azure AD, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune.

Manage identity, authentication, conditional access, MFA, and security policies.

Support collaboration tools, email flow, licensing, and service health monitoring.

Assist with cloud resource provisioning, configuration, and governance (Azure preferred).

Provide Tier 2–3 support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.

Perform remote troubleshooting using RDP, Intune, TeamViewer, or similar tools.

Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).

Support software installations, updates, and configuration management.

Document incidents, resolutions, and system changes to maintain operational transparency.

Implement and maintain endpoint protection, firewalls, and security policies.

Monitor logs, alerts, and system events to detect anomalies or potential threats.

Support vulnerability remediation, patch cycles, and compliance audits.

Enforce backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures.
