Job Description
As a Senior Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney, you will play an important role in managing complex litigation matters, developing case strategies, and helping clients navigate sophisticated intellectual property disputes.
- Handle complex commercial and intellectual property litigation involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and related disputes.
- Develop litigation strategies and evaluate case strengths, risks, and potential resolutions.
- Draft and argue substantive motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
- Lead discovery efforts, including written discovery, document production, discovery disputes, and depositions.
- Prepare for, take, and defend depositions involving witnesses and other key participants.
- Collaborate with clients, technical experts, and attorneys to develop compelling legal arguments.
- Manage significant case responsibilities with increasing independence and direct client interaction.
- Support hearings, expert discovery, trial preparation, and other litigation proceedings.
- Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing litigation team.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active Illinois Bar license.
- 3+ years of complex commercial litigation or intellectual property litigation experience.
- Experience drafting substantive legal motions and briefs, managing discovery, and preparing for depositions.
- Ability to independently manage significant litigation responsibilities and deadlines.
- Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client service abilities.
- Patent litigation, trademark litigation, or trade secret litigation experience preferred.
- Technical or STEM background is a plus, but not required.
