We are looking for experienced industry professionals who are passionate about teaching, mentoring, and helping working professionals master complex technical concepts.

The Opportunity

As an Industry Instructor, you will teach AI/ML or Data Science and Machine Learning to working professionals through structured, instructor-led online sessions.

This role is ideal for professionals who combine strong technical expertise with the ability to explain concepts clearly, connect theory to real-world applications, and engage learners in a live classroom.

Scaler provides the curriculum and learning materials, allowing instructors to focus on delivering high-quality learning experiences rather than building an entire course from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver live online classes covering AI/ML or Data Science and Machine Learning concepts.
• Explain complex technical topics through clear explanations, practical examples, and industry use cases.
• Help learners develop a strong understanding of fundamentals rather than relying solely on tools or pre-built implementations.
• Demonstrate practical applications through coding, problem-solving, case studies, and technical walkthroughs where relevant.
• Engage learners through questions, discussions, and interactive teaching.
• Address learner doubts and clarify conceptual misunderstandings.
• Follow Scaler's curriculum, learning objectives, and delivery standards.
• Participate in instructor evaluations, mock teaching sessions, and feedback-driven improvement.

Who We Are Looking For

1. Technical Expertise

Candidates should demonstrate substantial practical knowledge in at least one relevant domain.

AI/ML

• Machine learning fundamentals, model development, and evaluation.
• Deep learning and neural networks.
• Python and relevant ML libraries.
• Generative AI, LLMs, or related advanced topics, depending on the assigned curriculum.
• Applied ML problem-solving and real-world implementation.

Data Science & Machine Learning

• Python and SQL.
• Statistics, probability, and exploratory data analysis.
• Data cleaning, feature engineering, and visualization.
• Machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, and interpretation.
• Practical experience solving analytical or predictive business problems.

Candidates do not need to specialize in every listed topic. Their expertise should align with the specific course they would teach.

2. Professional Experience

• Typically 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with flexibility for exceptional candidates who demonstrate strong technical depth and teaching ability.
• Hands-on experience in relevant industry roles, such as Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, AI Engineer, Applied Scientist, Analytics Lead, or equivalent positions.
• Evidence of applying technical concepts to real-world projects, products, or business problems.
• Experience mentoring colleagues, leading technical sessions, conducting workshops, or teaching learners is a strong advantage.

3. Teaching and Communication Ability

• Ability to break down difficult concepts into simple, logical explanations.
• Strong verbal communication and classroom articulation.
• Ability to explain both the underlying theory and its practical application.
• Confidence in answering questions and adapting explanations to different levels of understanding.
• A structured, learner-focused approach to teaching.

Preferred Candidate Signals

The following are useful indicators of potential fit, but are not mandatory requirements:

• Experience teaching or mentoring through platforms such as Topmate or similar services.
• Public technical content, tutorials, workshops, webinars, or educational YouTube videos.
• Experience as a corporate trainer, teaching assistant, bootcamp instructor, or technical mentor.
• Open-source projects, GitHub repositories, technical publications, or demonstrable industry projects.
• Experience conducting internal knowledge-sharing sessions or onboarding technical teams.
• Strong professional credibility demonstrated through relevant work, certifications, or technical contributions.

Time Commitment and Schedule

• Part-time, remote engagement.
• Approximately 8–10 hours per week.
• Classes typically run on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9 PM to 12 AM IST.
• Instructors should be able to commit consistently to the agreed schedule, including preparation and learner-support responsibilities where applicable.

Compensation

• Compensation of up to ₹20,000 per class, depending on the applicable engagement and payout structure.
• Many instructors earn around ₹2.5 lakh per month, depending on the number of classes and their engagement.
• Final compensation and workload will be confirmed during the selection process.

Selection Process

1. Profile screening: Evaluate technical expertise, relevant professional experience, and teaching potential.
2. Application form: Collect information about technical specializations, experience, availability, and compensation expectations.
3. Technical interview: Assess subject-matter knowledge and conceptual depth.
4. Teaching evaluation: Evaluate clarity, structure, articulation, and learner engagement through a mock teaching session.
5. Final evaluation: Confirm curriculum fit, schedule compatibility, and engagement expectations.

Important Considerations

This is a teaching role, not solely a technical contributor role. Candidates must demonstrate both subject-matter expertise and the ability to teach effectively.

Candidates should be comfortable teaching live online classes during the specified evening hours and making a consistent weekly commitment.
