Location: MEDLEY, FL 33166-2400

Pay: $36+ (Depending on Experience must have ALL requirements)

Monday – Saturday 3:00PM -11:30PM

Job Description: Foods Lab is seeking a highly experienced, hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, working knowledge of automation, and extensive practical experience with Flow Pack packaging machines. The successful candidate will independently diagnose failures, repair and fabricate components, and design practical improvements that increase reliability, efficiency, safety, and equipment uptime.

Key Responsibilities

• Flow Pack & packaging: Troubleshoot and optimize film feeding, registration marks, photoeyes, sealing jaws, cutting systems, product infeed, temperature controls, encoders, servos, and machine synchronization.

• Electrical & automation: Diagnose PLC I/O and HMI alarms; troubleshoot sensors, contactors, relays, safety circuits, motor controls, and three-phase electrical systems; install, configure, and troubleshoot VFDs.

• Mechanical maintenance: Repair and align motors, bearings, shafts, couplings, reducers, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, belts, rollers, and conveyors; identify root causes of vibration, overload, or premature wear.

• Fabrication & welding: Perform safe MIG/TIG welding, cutting, drilling, grinding, fitting, and assembly; fabricate stainless-steel supports, brackets, guards, and machine modifications using hygienic practices.

• Mechanical design: Measure and reverse-engineer components; sketch or create CAD drawings; prototype, fabricate, or coordinate fabrication of replacement and improved machine parts.

• Process equipment: Support pumps, piping, valves, pneumatic systems, chilled-water circuits, and related food-processing machinery.

• Reliability & improvements: Conduct root cause analysis, implement lasting corrective actions, improve changeovers and product flow, reduce waste and downtime, and support equipment installation and commissioning.

• Execution & communication: Complete preventive and corrective maintenance, document findings, communicate with Production and Quality, and work independently during urgent breakdowns.

• Qualifications & Experience

• At least 5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience; 7+ years preferred, ideally in food processing or packaging.

• Demonstrated, substantial hands-on Flow Pack experience is mandatory, including fault diagnosis and machine adjustment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical competence with motors, drives, bearings, gear reducers, and conveyor systems.

• Solid industrial electrical troubleshooting skills; working knowledge of PLCs, sensors, HMIs, VFDs, and control drawings.

• Hands-on metalworking, welding, and fabrication capabilities; ability to use precision measuring and diagnostic instruments.

• Ability to solve complex equipment problems independently and deliver safe, practical, creative improvements.

• Preferred Qualifications

• CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks) and experience designing or modifying machine parts.
