Job title: Senior Hardware Quality Engineer

About the Role You will lead the quality influence and build the quality system in early-stage NPI (EVT) for Formlabs’ desktop 3D printers. This role drives the definition, implementation, and execution of quality plans for new and existing hardware products, working across Engineering, Product Management, and Operations to enable smooth development and launches.

What You'll Do

• Drive the quality influence and develop the quality system in the early stages of NPI (EVT), applying APQP qualification.
• Define, implement, and execute quality plans for new and existing 3D printing hardware products.
• Work with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product Management, Operations) to ensure seamless product development and launch.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners (CM/JDM) to establish quality control processes and ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the supply chain.
• Develop sub-tier suppliers qualification processes.
• Analyze data, lead DOE, identify root causes of failures, and drive corrective actions with engineering, manufacturing, and CM/JDMs.
• Lead failure analysis investigations and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (SCAR).
• Lead the development and improvement of quality management systems and processes from scratch.
• Champion quality throughout the organization and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related). Overseas degree is a big plus.
• 8+ years of hardware quality engineering experience, preferably in consumer electronics, robotics, or a related industry.
• Experience with complex electromechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, data interpretation, and problem-solving techniques.
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is a big plus.
• Experience with JMP, Minitab, or other statistical software is a must.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., IATF) and quality tools (FMEA, Control Plans).
• Startup mindset and willingness to do hands-on work in a highly dynamic environment.
• SQL/Python is a big plus.
• Up to 40% travel, most in Pearl River Delta.
• Excellent English capability - speaking, listening, reading and writing.

• Overseas degree is a big plus.
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing environments and supplier qualification.
