Job title: Senior Group Sales Manager
About the Role The Senior Group Sales Manager at Bernardus Lodge & Spa is responsible for generating group revenue through strategic development, acquisition, and management of corporate, incentive, association, and third-party intermediary accounts, serving as a brand ambassador for the resort.
What You'll Do
- Proactively identify, cultivate, and secure new group business opportunities while expanding relationships within existing accounts to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategic sales plans leveraging prospecting, sales calls, client entertainment, site visits, industry events, and partnerships to drive market share and revenue growth.
- Position Bernardus as a preferred destination for meetings, retreats, incentive travel, and executive gatherings by delivering customized solutions aligned with client objectives and budgets.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the resort's accommodations, culinary offerings, wellness experiences, and amenities to maximize revenue and deliver compelling client solutions.
- Respond to inquiries promptly and maintain timely communication.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate meeting planners, incentive houses, third-party intermediaries, association executives, and key decision-makers to generate repeat and referral business.
- Represent the resort through site inspections, client events, and sales missions to showcase its unique appeal.
- Represent Bernardus Lodge & Spa at industry trade shows and events to strengthen brand awareness and opportunities as directed by leadership.
- Monitor market trends and competitive activity to identify opportunities for revenue growth and market expansion.
- Collaborate with Catering, Revenue Management, Marketing, Spa, F&B, and Operations to ensure seamless transition from sales to program execution.
- Maintain accurate account, prospect, and opportunity data within Delphi and other sales systems, ensuring data integrity and reporting.
- Negotiate contracts and terms to maximize profitability and long-term value.
- Consistently achieve revenue, room night, ADR, and profitability goals.
- Uphold Forbes Four-Star Standards and Two Michelin Keys in guest and colleague interactions.
- Participate in meetings, training, planning sessions, and special projects, supporting guest service and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
- 7-10 years related experience in luxury resorts/hotel group sales; ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, and motivation of peers; understanding of hotel operations and local market.
- High school diploma or GED; valid California driver license; ability to operate standard AV equipment.
- Able to work under time constraints and deadlines; must provide work eligibility documentation.
Nice to Have
- Delphi and Opera Cloud proficiency; familiarity with hotel systems and technology.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $94,000 - $98,000 per year; onsite full-time role.
