Senior GL Accounting Specialist

About the Role Senior GL Accounting Specialist responsible for general ledger accounting with a focus on inventory-related transactions, aligning with BMW Group global guidelines and local Hungarian legislation. Based in Debrecen, you’ll be part of the Finance team at the BMW Group Plant Debrecen, contributing to month-end close, forecast planning, and driving digitalization of processes and reports. What You'll Do

• Participate in month-end closing accounting cycle; ensure compliant postings of IA, CoS and other GL topics.
• Forecast planning: perform and drive forecast planning in close cooperation with inventory-related business departments.
• Digitalization of processes: actively participate in digitalization of processes/reports and help develop simple applications.
• Cross-functional collaboration: proactively collaborate across the plant with inventory-related business departments and with international teams, headquarters and auditors.
• Support external audits and maintain strong internal controls. What We're Looking For
• University degree in Economics; Chartered Accountant Certification; minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role at an international company (manufacturing environment would be an advantage).
• Willingness to work on-site at least 4 days a week during regular business hours.
• Fluent English and Hungarian, written and spoken; German a plus. Up-to-date knowledge of Hungarian accounting legislation; IFRS accounting knowledge is a plus.
• ERP experience, preferably SAP FI module; S/4HANA knowledge is an advantage. MS Office especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication skills, and an independent, reliable, and result-oriented working style. Nice to Have
• IFRS Accounting certification; experience in inventory accounting with manufacturing companies; S/4HANA familiarity. Compensation & Benefits
