Senior General Ledger Accountant at BorgWarner in Darmstadt, Germany. You will ensure proper accounting according to US GAAP/HGB, manage complex balance sheet topics across monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, and serve as a professional contact for closing and accounting questions. You will collaborate with auditors and internal controls, handle intercompany reconciliations, support SAP-based fixed asset management during projects, and contribute to liquidity planning and process optimization.
Responsibilities include ensuring proper accounting according to US GAAP and HGB, managing complex balance sheet topics for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, serving as a contact for closing and accounting questions, addressing VAT-related inquiries, collaborating with auditors and internal controls per SOX requirements, handling intercompany reconciliations, overseeing fixed asset management in SAP, managing liquidity planning, and actively contributing to the development and optimization of internal processes and workflows.
Requirements include a completed commercial degree or equivalent training, solid knowledge of accounting according to US GAAP and HGB, experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, expertise in closing and accounting questions, experience with VAT, collaboration with auditors and internal controls (SOX), experience with intercompany reconciliations, SAP experience, particularly in fixed asset management, experience in liquidity planning, and a self-directed, proactive work style with a willingness to contribute to process development.
