Job title: Senior Fund Accountant
About the Role Senior Fund Accountant will join a leading venture capital firm in Palo Alto, supporting fund operations, investment activity, and the full lifecycle of private investment funds in a stable team environment. Hybrid work arrangement with strong compensation package.
What You'll Do
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for private investment funds, including investment activity and investor capital allocations.
- Support quarterly and year-end close, including preparing fund and management company financial statements.
- Coordinate annual audit process by preparing schedules and liaising with external auditors.
- Partner with investment professionals to support portfolio company valuation analyses and related accounting.
- Prepare accounting for investment transactions and assist with tax-related reporting for fund investments.
- Monitor fund liquidity, analyze cash requirements, and support cash management.
- Process and reconcile capital calls, cash, equity, and other investor distributions.
- Respond to investor requests with financial information and supporting documentation.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile journal entries and other records to ensure accuracy.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and provide analytical support on special projects for the finance leadership team.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree a plus.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in public accounting, fund accounting, private equity, venture capital, or fund administration supporting investment partnerships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate across teams.
- Self-starter with initiative, ability to work independently, high accountability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with continuous improvement mindset.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High ethical standards with collaborative approach and integrity.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree or advanced education; experience with portfolio company valuation analyses.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: 125,000 - 150,000 USD per year.
