Senior Front-End Engineer

MobSquad is seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer to join our Canada-based team, delivering technical services to MobSquad’s clients. You will implement requirements, improve APIs and platforms, and work across the full development lifecycle from concept and design to testing, release, support, and maintenance. You will gather requirements from a broader team and translate input into a fully functioning application, collaborating with other developers and data scientists to produce high-quality software.

Overview

A senior front-end specialist with strong experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern front-end tooling, capable of turning high-level guidance into actionable plans and business value. You will work in a collaborative environment across multiple languages and frameworks, contributing to user-friendly software and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Implement requirements and contribute to the development of user-facing software
• Improve APIs and related platforms
• Collaborate with a team of developers and data scientists to deliver high-quality software
• Participate in the full development lifecycle: concept and design, testing, release, support, and maintenance
• Gather requirements from a broader team and translate them into functional applications
• Ensure code quality through industry best practices, including code reviews, unit tests, and version control

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable field
• Five+ years of general software development experience across multiple languages and frameworks
• Five+ years of experience in JavaScript (ES6), TypeScript, and front-end web development (HTML, CSS)
• Experience with Grunt, Gulp, and/or Webpack
• Experience with React, web components, and functional interfaces
• Experience with back-end development using Node.js and GraphQL (Apollo)
• Experience connecting to back-end services via RESTful APIs
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
• Knowledge of software design principles and various architectural patterns
• Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality code following industry best practices (code reviews, unit tests, revision control)
• Self-motivated, solves open-ended problems, and delivers business value with minimal supervision
• Self-starter, quick learner, and able to turn high-level guidance into actionable plans
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
