Section: About the Role We’re seeking a highly experienced Senior Firmware & BMC Engineer to build and maintain the firmware and BMC foundation powering the hardware platform and SteadGrid. The role focuses on production-grade embedded Linux/BMC engineering, including OpenBMC, secure boot, hardware debugging, power control, and telemetry.
Section: Key Responsibilities
- Reproduce and maintain OpenSBI, U-Boot, OpenBMC, and RK3588 builds.
- Integrate secure boot, firmware updates, signing, rollback, and recovery mechanisms.
- Implement BMC-to-K3 node lifecycle and per-node power-control interfaces.
- Support operating-state semantics, telemetry confirmation, and safe fallback.
- Work with Redfish, bmcweb, entity-manager, and sdbusplus where required.
- Build logging, health monitoring, telemetry, and firmware update mechanisms.
- Support factory flashing and provisioning workflows.
- Develop automated and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
- Produce technical documentation, release notes, and knowledge-transfer materials.
Section: Requirements
- 7+ years of embedded firmware/embedded Linux experience.
- Strong OpenBMC experience preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Linux BMC/IPMI/Redfish, Yocto, and C/C++.
- Experience with OpenSBI, U-Boot, secure boot, firmware updates, and recovery.
- Hardware debugging and production flashing/provisioning experience.
- Experience with BMC-to-host power and telemetry control.
