Senior Financial Accountant (Statutory France) (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant with French to support our accounting and financial activities. You will be responsible for coordinating accounting data, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and carrying out accounting activities within your assigned scope, while ensuring compliance with legal, tax and accounting requirements.
What you will be doing
- Financial Accounting, Statutory Reporting & Closing
- Centralize and analyze accounting and financial data for the assigned French entities
- Ensure the quality of accounts in line with statutory, Group, IFRS and local GAAP requirements
- Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes
- Prepare and review accounting entries and propose accounting entry schedules across Group, corporate and analytical accounting
- Check the quality of transactions performed by the shared accounting centre and ensure that errors are identified and corrected
- Financial Analysis, Controls & Process Improvement
- Analyze accounting and actual financial data and identify anomalies, accounting malfunctions or potential fraud
- Implement and apply internal control rules and Group financial policies, particularly those related to SOX
- Identify and propose improvements to accounting procedures
- Create dashboards and monitoring and analysis tools
- Participate in the implementation of accounting and reporting tools across general accounting, cost accounting and reporting
- Tax, Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
- Control and support the calculation and reporting of taxable income and deferred tax
- Prepare or review periodic tax returns and related documentation, including VAT returns, tax credits and Transfer Pricing Documentation
- Ensure the correct application of current legal, accounting and tax requirements
- Monitor accounting and tax developments and alert management of any non-compliance or potential risks
- Contribute to legal restructuring activities where required
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Performance
- Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of budgets and quarterly forecasts within the assigned scope
- Analyze actual financial results and identify deviations from budget or forecast
- Alert management in the event of deviations
- Support financial analysis and monitoring within the assigned scope
- Group Finance Projects, Audit & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Participate in Group Finance projects involving new reporting and internal control tools, accounting and financial methodologies, processes and directives
- Ensure their effective operational implementation within the French entities
- Collaborate with project teams on the operational application of new accounting and financial requirements
- Act as a backup for the line manager in relations with statutory auditors
- Support cross-functional Finance activities as required
What you need to succeed
- Experience & Education
- 4 to 6 years of experience in an accounting role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management required
- Expert knowledge of the financial statement production process
- Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Knowledge of accounts and international accounting standards (IFRS)
- Knowledge of local French accounting
- Knowledge of tax
- Knowledge of SOX
- Systems & Tools
- Proficiency in Office 365
- Familiarity with business software/ERPs, including SAP, BlackLine and CoStar
- Languages
- High proficiency of French in both written and spoken communication
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken
