Role Synopsis: The role leads a team of multi-skilled finance experts from various specialisms and plays a key part in ensuring the required integration of the Embedded Finance, third party local providers and Finance GCH organizations in service of the business.

The role is accountable for delivery of finance priorities within the Castrol business in Greece to enable it to meet its strategic and commercial objectives including Statutory and Tax Compliance for Castrol Hellas SMSA.

The holder plays a key role in the creation and delivery of the business strategy and financial roadmap, including the assessment of risk at local level. The role holds the business to account for the impact that strategic and operational activities will have on financial outcomes and is accountable for intervening when delivery risk emerges.

The role provides finance expertise into business decision-making to create and protect sustainable value for Castrol. It is accountable for supporting delivery of a strong financial and control framework, whilst driving financial performance.

The role is required collaborating with the business and supporting functions to optimize and protect integrated value chains and it furthermore owns external relationships with government, regulatory agencies, partners and counterparties to ensure Castrol SMSA’s contractual rights and obligations are met.

Key Accountabilities:

• Commercial - Trusted advisor to the Castrol Business in support of business delivery (commercial, accounting, investment), providing finance expertise related to local environment into business decision-making across strategic and operational imperatives.
• Control and Risk Management - accountable for supporting the maintenance of a robust control environment and support the identification and resolution of gaps.
• Lead local Accounting & Tax Activities:
• Lead Local Accounting team. Ensure smooth completion of all Accounting processes
• Prepare/Sign FS as a certified Accountant and ensure accuracy
• Approve FS as a Board Member and ensure the Compliance of the legal entity
• Support IFRS audit from auditors
• Support Tax Certificate audit from auditors
• Support EY Tax team in any future tax audit from Tax Authorities
• Review of all Tax returns and contact with EY Tax team for the preparation of Tax returns
• Monitor the accurate submission of MyData project (invoices’ transmission to AADE, revenues/expenses reconciliations, e-delivery)
• Monitor year-end and month-end activities (reconciliations, postings, etc.)
• Group reporting as well as internal controls/SODs/BSA
• Ensure compliance with local law provisions as well as entity’s policies
• Contact point for all issues with third party contractors (EY, TMF, Deloitte, NN, leasing company, etc.)
• Contact point for Central Finance team queries
• Contact point for Business queries
• Contact point for Tax authorities, Banks, Ministry of Finance, and other organizations
• Approve daily payments
• Review daily operations (P2P, R2R, treasury, FA, IC, etc.)
• Responsible for Health Insurance plan/ IAS accounting treatment
• Support any future projects in terms of ERP implementations or Tax compliance.

Simplification – Support process transformation of our business by eliminating interfaces and duplications where possible, simplifying activities, embracing digital automation, and utilizing new digital skills to enable faster, more focused decision making

People Development – support development of required skills and capability to ensure business needs can be met sustainably in addition to developing future capability for the business group and finance overall

Base-pay range: 47 000,00 €minimum - 66 000,00 €midpoint

Essential Education:

• Degree in Business and/or Finance or equivalent
• Preferred

• Extensive years of experience in a finance role, with responsibilities related to Statutory, Control and Tax compliance within retail or supply business, leading financial delivery of a business and delivering change and tax compliance projects across the organization.

• Understanding of key internal policies and external standards (existing and emerging) across the Planning and Control scope
• Deep understanding of the local regulatory frameworks in which the business operates
• Ability to navigate and drive strategic change at pace.
• High level of problem-solving skills required. Examples include:
• Resolution of escalations around key judgements / evaluations, commercial options, partner disputes etc.
• Prioritization of resource demands, balancing regional business, external stakeholder and central finance demands.

Desirable Criteria:

• Deep expertise within the relevant business model, understanding of the key business drivers and emerging external landscape. Able to shape and influence the strategic direction of the sub-business / region and influence key internal and external stakeholders within this context. Significant experience in a commercial business with responsibilities covering commercial or financial management, leading performance management of a business and delivering change projects across the organization.
