What You'll Actually Do

Events are one of the most direct ways Personify Health shows up in front of buyers, and every dollar spent on them should be able to answer for itself. This role makes sure it can.

The Senior Marketing Events Specialist leads the planning, execution, and measurement of national and regional events that advance Personify Health’s Wellbeing growth strategy, and has a real voice in deciding which ones we invest in to begin with. The Events Specialist keeps the event engine running. This role helps decide where that engine points, how much fuel it gets, and whether the trip was worth taking.

Reporting to the VP, Integrated Marketing, you’ll work with a high degree of independence. You’ll own the Wellbeing events calendar and a defined budget, bring recommendations to leadership instead of waiting for assignments, and act as a senior partner to Sales, Marketing Operations, and the commercial team. National conferences give us scale and visibility. Regional events put us in the room with the buyers and brokers who are closest to a deal. You’ll make the case for the right mix of both. You’ll also be a go-to resource for the Events Specialist, helping them grow and keeping the team’s standards high.

Shape the events strategy

  • Build and maintain the annual Wellbeing events plan across national and regional events. Recommend which conferences, sponsorships, hosted events, and local market programs earn a place on it, and which should be dropped, with a clear tie to pipeline or brand goals for each.
  • Decide, with data, where the next dollar does the most good. A national trade show and a regional client dinner serve different purposes, and you’ll weigh them against each other on cost per qualified meeting, pipeline sourced and influenced, and brand reach.
  • Work with Marketing Operations to make sure attribution holds up under scrutiny, then use the results to rebalance the portfolio.
  • Keep a close eye on the market: what buyers in employer health and wellbeing attend, where competitors show up, which regions matter most to the sales pipeline, and which formats are working. Turn that into proposals with options and a clear recommendation.
  • Advise the VP, Integrated Marketing and Wellbeing commercial leaders on sponsorship levels, speaking opportunities, and whether a booth is the right presence or something smaller and sharper would do more.
  • Co-lead planning for the annual client conference and support client innovation councils alongside Account Management.

Own the budget

  • Manage the Wellbeing events budget for national and regional programs. Forecast against plan, flag variances early, and recommend reallocations when priorities shift.
  • Negotiate with event organizers, sponsors, agencies, venues, and vendors. Work with Procurement and Legal on contracts, and approve spend within your delegated authority.
  • Build the business case when an event needs more investment, and report on events ROI to marketing leadership each quarter.

Run events with autonomy

  • Lead end-to-end execution of priority national events and flagship regional programs, including on-site leadership and the judgment calls that come with it.
  • Work with regional sales leaders and account teams to identify local opportunities, shape the guest list, and make sure each regional event supports a specific sales objective.
  • Manage multiple events at once, each at a different stage. Set and refine the team’s playbooks, timelines, and checklists so quality doesn’t depend on who happens to be working the event, and so regional events get the same rigor as national ones.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing Operations, and CBR on pre-event outreach, meeting setup, lead routing, Salesforce campaigns, landing pages, and follow-up. Use the data to hold everyone, including marketing, to the follow-up commitments made before the event.
  • Work with the brand and creative teams so every event touchpoint looks and sounds like Personify, whether it’s a 20-by-20 booth or a private dinner for twelve.

Lead by example

  • Delegate to, review the work of, and coach the Events Specialist. Take on the harder problems and build the processes that make the routine ones easier.
  • Run candid post-event debriefs. Say what worked, what didn’t, and what we should do differently, then follow through.
  • Communicate clearly with executives. Give them the short version, the numbers behind it, and a recommendation.

What You Bring to Our Team

  • Typically 5 or more years of B2B events or field marketing experience, including national conferences, trade shows, and regional or field events. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and equivalent experience counts.
  • Experience owning and managing a six-figure annual events budget, including negotiating contracts and sponsorships.
  • Comfort with event measurement. You can work in Salesforce or a similar CRM, read campaign data, and explain what an event did and didn’t deliver.
  • Sound strategic judgment. You can explain why one event deserves the investment over another, and you’re willing to say so when the numbers don’t support a favorite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including executive-ready recaps, proposals, and stakeholder updates.
  • A record of working independently, juggling competing deadlines, and staying composed when something goes sideways on site.
  • Experience in healthcare, employer health, benefits, or another regulated, multi-stakeholder B2B market is a plus, as is a CMP or CEM certification.
