Senior Engineer Validation

About the Role Senior Engineer Validation is an IC role within Renesas' Power Business Unit. The role focuses on bench validation, silicon debug, and automation for PMICs, with potential to lead a small team and drive end-to-end validation. What You'll Do

• Fully own bench validation, silicon debug, and automation of equipment and tests for PMICs.
• Analyse data, document and report findings to Systems team; collaborate with Design & Systems experts to ensure high-quality ICs.
• Lead end-to-end bench validation for multiple PMICs from Bengaluru; coordinate with global teams across geographies/time zones.
• Develop and automate industry-standard tests for switching converters; define equipment requirements and help setup lab from scratch.
• Debug setups and equipment issues; minimize bench testing cost through standardization, reuse, and automation.
• Write bench test programs in Python, C, LabVIEW; debug ATE programs; maximize bench/equipment utilization via automation.
• Schedule bench test program development and testing; identify gaps/risks; own deliverables (waveforms, reports, docs, results).
• Be hands-on with validation equipment (power supplies, load slam, scopes, probes, multi-meters, FPGA testing, etc.); perform ATE-Bench correlation. What We're Looking For
• 7+ years of bench validation and debug experience on Power Management ICs (PMICs) as part of a large Power Business Unit.
• 5+ years of hands-on bench validation of mixed-signal ICs; strong PSU, scope, lab equipment skills.
• Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong hands-on capability, ability to coach/mentor new graduates; ability to work with clear timelines and deliverables.
• Experience with FPGA-based testing, I2C and PMIC communication protocols (SPMI, PMBUS, SVI3, SVID; comfortable with I2C).
• Experience with ATE-Bench correlation; cross-functional collaboration across geographies/time zones. Nice to Have
• Ability to define bench validation plan for PMICs and Evaluation Boards; set up lab from scratch.
• Basic circuit design on breadboards; PCB design capability.
• Familiarity with lab equipment (power supplies, load slam, scopes, probes, multimeters, analog switches, relays).
• Experience with data analysis and reporting; strong documentation skills. Compensation & Benefits
