Job title: Senior Engineer, Product Development
About the Role SIG is seeking a Senior Engineer, Product Development to drive flexible packaging development and trials, translating technical vision into commercial packaging solutions. The role involves direct interaction with suppliers, customers and industry participants, and coordination of lab testing and pilot efforts across blown film extrusion, printing, lamination and bag/pouch fabrication. Occasional international travel may be required to support programs.
What You'll Do
- Manage flexible packaging development activities.
- Create and implement a technical vision for assigned segments.
- Establish yourself as a technical SME in food and non-food packaging through external interactions with suppliers, customers and industry participants.
- Research advanced polymers and processing technologies; identify IP and patentable inventions.
- Conduct literature and patent searches and scout for new technologies.
- Coordinate blown film extrusion, printing, lamination and bag/pouch developments and trials; and coordinate lab testing.
- Lead cross-functional teams from the commercial, operations and supply chain departments to commercialize the vision.
- Travel up to 25% of the time; international travel may be required.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Polymer Engineering, or Materials Science from an accredited four-year college or university. Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in blown film extrusion, printing (flexo, rotogravure and digital) and lamination (solvent-less and solvent).
- Experience in flexible packaging development and trials.
- Knowledge of food science and filling equipment are preferred.
- Experience in operating blown film equipment.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $95,000-$110,000 per year (USD).
