Job title: Senior Engineer - Manufacturing Project Management

About the Role As a Senior Engineer in Manufacturing Project Management at Autoliv, you will oversee high-level engineering projects related to manufacturing, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining high quality. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage risks and costs, and drive improvements to enhance competitiveness and product reliability in airbags, seatbelts, and steering wheels.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain project plans: form and lead project teams, set milestones and detailed schedules, continuously update and adjust when deviations occur.
  • Manage project costs and budget across the development lifecycle (Phase 0–4), confirm and report total lifecycle costs and pricing, drive procurement, engineering and factory teams to optimize costs.
  • Coordinate project communications: organize regular project meetings, report progress, costs, quality and risks to stakeholders, conduct stage reviews and ensure information transparency.
  • Manage lifecycle risks: identify risks (cost increases, schedule delays), propose mitigations, escalate to management based on probability and impact, implement closed-loop risk management (identify–analyze–correct–track–close).
  • Change and engineering support: oversee post-TG4 change management and VE/VA projects, evaluate ECR/ECN, report feasibility and estimate time/cost impact.
  • Product development and quality assurance: ensure development follows design guidelines and high-quality requirements, participate in lessons learned, case studies, technical reviews, share experiences with team.
  • Production ramp-up and continuous improvement: participate in production line and design workshop activities, support solving design-related issues, enhance plant capability, drive standardization and innovation.
  • Summary and knowledge transfer: lead project reviews, capture lessons learned, and promote optimization of project management methods and tools; contribute to the airbag and related product project management knowledge base.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field; at least 2 years of engineering or project management experience in the automotive industry, with experience leading development or change projects for automotive components (preferring safety systems).
  • Familiar with OEM development processes (experience preferred).
  • Practical ability in project planning, cost control, risk management and cross-functional communication.
  • Strong problem analysis and problem-solving ability; able to identify issues and drive closed-loop improvements in daily management.
  • Basic English reading, writing and speaking; able to communicate with clients and multinational teams; fluent English preferred.
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA or similar) and Office software.
