Senior Engineer, Data

About the Role Slalom's Data Engineering capability designs scalable, future-proof data foundations using modern data platforms and data strategies. The role focuses on building data platforms, real-time streaming, embedded machine learning, and DataOps to guarantee reliable, high-quality data delivery across AWS, Azure, and GCP. What You'll Do

• Design and deliver innovative solutions on AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform using core cloud data warehouse tools, distributed processing engines, event streaming platforms, and other modern data technologies.
• Work closely with prospective clients, discuss their needs, and shape projects into a team-based delivery model.
• Contribute to the analysis, architecture, design, and development of data solutions including defining the cloud data strategy and multi-phased implementation roadmap for clients.
• Assist business development teams with pre-sales activities, including helping estimate and plan projects, and actively contribute to the cloud and data community at Slalom, driving new capabilities forward. What We're Looking For

• While not requiring expertise across all technologies, knowledge in several areas such as modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks), data-related cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP), cloud-native data services (AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow, Azure Synapse), general-purpose programming languages (Python, Java, Scala), streaming and event-driven architectures, modern data workflow tools (dbt, Apache Airflow, Dagster, Prefect), and AI / MLOps (advantageous) is valuable.
