About the Role Ubisoft is building a small, empowered team focused on a multiplayer experience developed in Unreal Engine. We’re seeking a hands-on senior engineer to design, implement, and harden core engine foundations with a production/live-ops mindset for stability, performance, and scalability. What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain core engine foundations in Unreal Engine with emphasis on stability, performance, and scalability for a live, delivery-driven production environment.
- Lead rendering and frame performance initiatives, including GPU/CPU diagnostics, optimization, budget definition, pipeline improvements, and safeguards (profiling, regression detection, benchmarking).
- Own technical solutions end-to-end: design, implementation, integration, review, and hardening with a live-ops focus on stability, performance, security, maintainability.
- Collaborate daily with Gameplay, Tech Art, VFX, Level Art, Tools, and Build teams to ensure engine-level decisions enable rapid delivery without compromising performance, while keeping Unreal Engine workflows efficient for a small, autonomous team.
- Write code daily, debug deeply in the engine, challenge technical approaches, document decisions, and elevate quality standards through best practices, patterns, and managing technical debt. What We're Looking For
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 7+ years of general programming experience, ideally in the video-game industry
- Proficiency to communicate across disciplines to support visuals and performance
- Experience with HLSL, DirectX; C++ proficiency
- Experience developing on video-game consoles and optimizing for consoles
