About the Role L3Harris is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer – SMES to contribute to the design, development, and integration of embedded software for SMES-related systems within defense technology. This role will partner with systems, hardware, and test teams to deliver secure, reliable software across space, air, land, sea, and cyber domains in support of national security. What You'll Do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for SMES platforms.
- Collaborate with hardware and systems engineering teams to integrate software with hardware components.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Contribute to software documentation and release activities. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with embedded C/C++, RTOS, and the software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with safety-critical and security-focused software development (defense domain a plus).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills. Nice to Have
- Experience with SMES systems or aerospace/defense domain.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for embedded systems.
