About the Role OHB System AG is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer (m/w/d) at the Bremen site to help build the avionics software of the next generation. You will contribute to architecture, guidelines, tooling and the integration of modern engineering practices in a regulated environment, with a focus on Rust alongside C/C++.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to Rust-based software architectures for satellite flight software
• Develop safety- and security-relevant components in Rust
• Align software with ECSS standards and implement modern practices (Testing, Tooling, CI, Static Analysis)
• Make multicore concepts productive (partitioning, determinism, scheduling)
• Implement high-reliability communication paths (MIL-STD-1553/MILBUS, CAN, Ethernet, serial)
• Work closely with experienced Embedded- and Avionics engineers and help shape the role of Rust in future satellite avionics

What We're Looking For

• Solid embedded background with software development in resource-constrained/RT contexts
• Rust experience (projects or production) and willingness to apply Rust in safety-critical contexts
• Understanding of real-time, concurrency and deterministic behavior on multicore MPSoCs
• Experience with RTOS (RTEMS, VxWorks) or Embedded Linux
• Familiarity with software quality in regulated environments (ECSS processes, reviews, tests, evidence)
• Very good German and English language skills
• High quality mindset and strong teamwork and communication

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of LEON (GR712/GR740), Zynq-7000; exposure to RISC-V is a plus
• Experience with Safety/Security mechanisms (robust APIs, memory safety, FMEA/FTA thinking)
• Experience with Static Analysis/Fuzzing/Property-Based Testing (C and/or Rust)
• Knowledge of common space protocols and bus systems
• Contributions to Open Source or internal tech guidelines
