About this role
About the Role Senior Electrical Engineer in MT540 TETRA HARDWARE is responsible for design and development of RF hardware for professional and mission-critical markets. The role focuses on RF sub-circuit development and debugging to meet stringent specifications, and requires close collaboration with HW and SW teams during product development. What You'll Do
- Design and develop RF sub-circuits (receivers, transmitters, VCOs, frequency mixers, and generation circuits) to meet stringent specifications.
- Perform RF development, debugging, testing, and validation to ensure uninterrupted production and supply.
- Lead digital connectivity circuit design and testing (GNSS, Bluetooth, WiFi, LTE), digital controller, power, and audio circuits; support integration with display, audio, and interface peripherals.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams, especially during HW-SW integration (e.g., TETRA Gateway Timing Sequences), and develop test scripts for RF/Digital equipment.
- Develop RF test and validation plans; document test results, failures, and design changes; provide manufacturing support and traceability.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for test setups, test planes, and product changes. What We're Looking For
- Degree/Masters/PhD in Electrical (RF)/Electronics/Telecommunication/Communication Engineering.
- 3–7 years direct experience in RF and hardware design.
- Ability to work independently; good verbal and written communication; team-focused; self-motivated.
- Strong debugging skills with simulation test-benches and hardware emulation; provide functional verification and manufacturing support.
- Preferably R&D background in RF passive designs and components (Rx, VCO, etc.) that meet stringent specs.
- Familiar with CAD tools (Mentor Graphics, Cadence) and PCB layout; experience with ADS, CST, and other EE software.
- Familiar with HW-SW integration and debugging during integration; experience with Scrum/Agile/SAFe; DFSS/6-sigma is a plus.
- Experience with RF testing equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters).
- Experience with simulation tools (ADS/PSPICE/SI).
- Travel: None. Nice to Have
- RF passive design/background and RF components (Rx, VCO) experience.
- Familiarity with certification/conformance testing debugging.
- Additional simulation tool experience. Compensation & Benefits
