Job Title: Senior Driver

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary

• The Senior Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of company staff, materials, and equipment.
• The role requires strict adherence to traffic regulations, company policies, and safety procedures, as well as proper handling, loading, and offloading of items to prevent damage.
• The driver is expected to maintain assigned vehicles in good condition, report faults promptly, and support daily operational activities, particularly in construction and field environments.

Key responsibilities

• Safely transport management, office staff, and other personnel to assigned destinations.

• Conduct long-distance trips as well as regular daily drives.

• Adhere to assigned routes and schedules to optimize efficiency and ensure timely deliveries.

• Perform daily inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition.

• Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the logistics team promptly.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle, both interior and exterior.

• Ensure vehicle documents (insurance, registration) are valid and renewed as required.

• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating company vehicles.

• Implement company safety policies, including use of seat belts and prohibition of mobile phone usage while driving.

• Ensure that passengers and goods are transported safely, without risk to their security or wellbeing.

• Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, including trip details, mileage, and fuel consumption.

• Complete and submit incident and accident reports as required.

• Keep records of all vehicle repairs, inspections, and service dates.

• Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with colleagues.

• Provide timely updates to the logistics team regarding route status or delays.

• Exhibit a professional demeanour, punctuality, and courteous communication with staff.

• Act with discretion and always maintain confidentiality.

• Washing assigned DA vehicles.

• You may be required to undertake other duties as DA may reasonably require.

• Comply with driver’s code of conduct

• Qualifications and Knowledge

• Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ proven driving experience in a professional or corporate settings

• Valid and appropriate driver’s license (relevant category) with a clean driving record

• Good knowledge of road safety regulations, traffic laws, and defensive driving practices

• Proven ability to safely load, secure, and offload materials and equipment

• Familiarity with vehicle maintenance basics and ability to identify and report mechanical faults promptly

• Good knowledge of local and inter-state routes, including alternative routes when required

• Ability to follow company policies, instructions, and schedules with minimal supervision

• Basic understanding of logbooks, fuel records, and trip documentation

• Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and professionalism

Tools & Technology Requirements:

• Must own and be able to use a functional smartphone with internet access
• Ability to use basic mobile applications (calls, messaging, GPS/navigation, WhatsApp, etc.) for work communication and coordination
