About the Role Fitch Ratings' U.S. & Canada Corporates Ratings group is seeking a Senior Director to join the Energy team in New York. The role will evaluate corporate debt issuers, deliver timely, insightful research, and lead a team of 2-3 analysts while serving as the primary analyst for U.S. and Canadian Oil & Gas credits. What You'll Do
- Cover a portfolio of 15-20 E&P, Refining, and Oil Field Services companies across investment-grade and speculative-grade ratings.
- Articulate Fitch’s credit views and sector outlook in meetings, conference calls, industry roundtables, as well as in written research, in an engaging and dynamic manner.
- Be a highly visible external-facing presence for the ratings process, including industry management teams, private equity sponsors, buy-side and sell-side analysts, and the media.
- Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates, as well as related credit groups.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment in the Energy team, contributing to the overall ethos of the U.S. and Canada Corporates rating team to advance Fitch’s strategic goals. What We're Looking For
- 10+ years relevant experience in a capital markets and/or credit analysis role which must include some coverage or knowledge of the energy sector.
- Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning; proven ability to dissect and articulate complex analytical topics.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing, mentoring and developing people and teams; collaborative, team-based approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Bachelor's degree essential; MBA, other advanced degrees, or CFA designation a plus.
- Some travel; adherence to Fitch's Onsite Flex time in office policy. Nice to Have
- Extensive corporate credit experience with strong capabilities in financial analysis and modeling.
- Comprehensive understanding of fixed income/debt capital markets, with varied experience in both investment grade and leveraged finance.
- Network of professional relationships within the debt capital markets and energy sectors.
- Proven success in nurturing talent and developing junior analysts. Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay between $175,000 and $250,000 per year for New York & Chicago roles; actual salary determined on an individualized basis.
- Base pay is part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which may include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits.
