About the Role The Senior Director, Federal Drug Pricing Policy at Gilead leads policy strategy and advocacy around federal drug pricing reforms, shaping how we position and demonstrate the value of medicines in the US. The role provides leadership in US pricing policy, analytics and governance to protect patient access and support sustainable value across the portfolio and pipeline.

What You'll Do

  • Drive US pricing policy strategy and enterprise positioning in response to the IRA and evolving federal policy landscape.
  • Direct quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess pricing reform impacts and inform senior leadership decisions.
  • Provide insights on CMS pricing methodologies, outcomes, and external benchmarks to guide strategy and governance.
  • Evaluate policy impacts across in-line products, pipeline assets, and business development opportunities.
  • Shape and advance the company’s federal policy agenda on drug pricing and the value of medicines.
  • Strengthen analytical capabilities, including adoption of advanced analytics and AI-enabled approaches.
  • Enhance governance, processes, and operating models to improve execution and decision-making in partnership with leadership.
  • Drive end-to-end analytical readiness and project management for the Medicare price negotiation process, including cross-functional submissions to CMS.
  • Establish, oversee and communicate coordinated workplans, processes, and governance frameworks to ensure execution excellence across workstreams.
  • Assess price-setting impact on in-line products, pipeline assets, and potential business development opportunities; forecast pricing risks and opportunities.
  • Develop advocacy materials; assess risks and inform internal response strategies; inform external analyses.
  • Advance value strategy by articulating the value of medicines using clinical, economic, and real-world evidence to support access and pricing; integrate with evidence planning and launch readiness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to inform strategy and advocacy.
  • Partner with Public Affairs and other stakeholders to establish strategic policy positions related to access to Gilead’s pipeline and products worldwide; ensure cohesive messaging.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of relevant experience in healthcare, public policy, or related fields; or master's degree with 12 years; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities; capacity to interpret complex policy and economic data.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; ability to distill complex topics for policy and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple high-profile, complex workstreams.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with US federal drug pricing reforms and with health economics/evidence generation.
  • Experience leading cross-functional policy teams and external engagements.
