Senior Development Engineer Fluid Mechanics (Flow & Pressure) (f/m/x)
Your Role
To manufacture defect-free photomasks for the latest-generation semiconductor lithography, we develop optical metrology solutions. The architecture of gas flows within these systems plays a key role in achieving the highest levels of measurement accuracy and system lifetime. You will be responsible for the flow and pressure architecture of highly complex optical metrology systems. You will translate high-level requirements into technical specifications for design modules, materials, and cleanliness processes. Using CFD, 1D, and DSMC models, you will analyze and optimize flow behavior, pressure conditions, and contaminant transport. You will develop outgassing and leakage budgets, as well as concepts for purge gas management, mini-environments, and vacuum systems. You will support the verification of requirements and assess technical deviations and optimization opportunities. You will work closely with interdisciplinary development teams and relevant interfaces and represent your topics within projects and stakeholder groups.
Your Profile
You have an excellent university degree in aerospace engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a comparable field. You have a strong background in fluid mechanics, vacuum technology, gas transport, or contamination control. You have experience modeling complex flow and pressure systems, particularly using CFD; knowledge of DSMC or 1D system simulations is an advantage. You are experienced in deriving technical requirements, developing budgets, and performing model-based design verification. Ideally, you have knowledge in areas such as outgassing, leakage, cleanliness, partial pressure analysis, or residual gas analysis. You enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams and are confident in coordinating with a wide range of interfaces and stakeholders. Very good written and spoken German and English skills
