About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Developer to join Reaktiv Studios' fully distributed team. You’ll help develop, maintain, support, and refactor WordPress-based websites and content management systems, build custom WordPress plugins and themes at scale, and advise on performance, security, and future maintainability. What You'll Do
- Maintain, support, and refactor websites and CMSs with a focus on WordPress architecture and scalability.
- Create custom WordPress plugins and themes that meet client needs and perform at scale.
- Audit sites for performance, security, and maintainability; provide actionable recommendations.
- Participate in peer code reviews and collaborate with a distributed team using Slack, Asana, Notion, and Zoom.
- Contribute to automated deployment workflows and document team processes. What We're Looking For
- Deep understanding of WordPress technical structure and architecture.
- Proficiency in PHP and JavaScript; strong SQL, HTML5, CSS, and CSS preprocessors.
- Experience building custom WordPress plugins/themes and solving complex problems; excellent client-facing communication.
- Comfortable working with distributed teams and modern collaboration tools.
- Familiarity with Git (or similar) and automated deployment workflows. Nice to Have
- Experience in an agency environment (2+ years).
- WordCamp speaker or WordPress core contributor is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
