About the Role We are hiring a Senior Design Manager (Infrastructure) to lead the design of Canonical's infrastructure and open source software. Based remotely across the EMEA region, you will help ensure the experience of our software is true to our intentions and delivers the tools our community and customers need.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor a design team focused on infrastructure and open source platforms.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and community teams to define strategy and execution for infrastructure tooling.
- Ensure UX quality and consistency across Canonical's infrastructure offerings, aligning with our design philosophy.
- Influence roadmaps, design systems, and engineering practices in a highly distributed environment across multiple countries.
- Represent design in cross-functional forums to align on strategy and execution.
What We're Looking For
- Experience leading design for infrastructure or platform products, preferably in open source or enterprise software.
- Strong design leadership, system thinking, and ability to scale design across a distributed team.
- Excellent collaboration across product, engineering, and community stakeholders.
- Familiarity with cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation and IoT contexts and experience shipping products used in these domains.
- Ability to operate effectively in a remote, distributed, EMEA-focused environment and communicate across time zones.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
