Job title: Senior Database Engineer (Azure SQL)

About the Role Senior Database Engineer in the Global Loans domain responsible for leading the design and delivery of the LoanIQ database implementation and in-house data solutions. You will mentor developers, apply AI-assisted development tools and cloud-native patterns to improve productivity, quality, and delivery speed, and ensure end-to-end data integration with upstream and downstream systems.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver a complex database implementation projects supporting the implementation of the vendor product LoanIQ.
• Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for Azure SQL environments.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and developers to translate requirements into scalable database solutions.
• Ensure database performance, reliability, and scalability through optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and maintain data integration strategies, including ETL processes, to support Global Loan products and operations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database designs, migration processes, and changes.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate code, test, and debug workflows.
• Promote AI-based engineering practices and cloud best practices within the team.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL and in-depth knowledge.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure SQL Database and related tools.
• Demonstrated ability to develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Experience with data integration, ETL tools, and methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
• Knowledge of LoanIQ.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with additional database technologies or platforms.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
• Knowledge of finance and global loans systems.
• Skills in scripting languages (Python, Shell) for automation and data processing.
• Experience working in global, diverse teams.
• English: B2 Upper Intermediate.
