About the Role As a Senior Data Scientist in Seller Analytics, you will build insights for Etsy's seller ecosystem, help create tools that improve seller performance and onboarding, and influence the seller service roadmap. You will lead analytics work across cross-functional teams and communicate actionable insights to product, design, engineering, and research. What You'll Do
- Develop insights from trends and research in seller data.
- Work with seller product teams to ensure launches are impactful and the seller experience is improved.
- Build foundational scripts using SQL and develop data pipelines; craft dashboards using Looker.
- Participate in dialogues with external vendors and collaborators, including technical developers.
- Connect with partners on timelines, priorities, and expectations for proposals.
- Continually evaluate and refine your technical toolkit; share what you learn with the team.
- Adapt to evolving responsibilities as needed by Etsy. What We're Looking For
- 4+ years experience supporting seller-side e-commerce, or product/engineering teams as an analyst or in a quantitative role.
- Understanding of two-sided marketplaces and e-commerce processes.
- Proficiency in SQL and some experience with Python or R.
- Fluent in English with strong verbal, visual, and written communication.
- Deep care about data quality and integrity of work; commitment to reproducible work and mentoring others.
- Curious about quantitative analysis, data visualization, and process efficiency.
- Validated project management skills and ability to carry projects through to completion.
- Trust in and dedication to Etsy’s vision, mission and values. Nice to Have
- Experience building dashboards and analytics in Looker.
- Prior experience in seller analytics or related e-commerce analytics. Compensation & Benefits
