Senior Data Scientist

Flix SE is seeking a motivated Senior Data Scientist to join Team Greenrock – Demand Division in Munich. You will work in a tech-driven environment where innovation meets real-world impact, focusing on Flix's Revenue Management System (RMS), a production system with direct commercial impact. This is a hands-on senior role in a non-greenfield setting, where delivering meaningful change requires care, conviction, and patience.

• Work closely with commercial stakeholders to translate business requirements into well-scoped projects and respond to operational inquiries.

• Translate revenue management theory and industry best practices into concrete, testable improvements, from idea and experimentation through to production rollout.

• Co-own the evolution of the entire RMS by collaborating with peers across your team and neighboring engineering teams.

• Contribute to the technical health, reliability, and observability of the existing system.

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.

• Solid theoretical foundation in revenue management, including demand modeling, dynamic pricing, and network revenue management. Experience with RM or pricing tech solutions in transportation, travel, hospitality, retail, or a comparable domain is a strong plus.

• Strong hands-on Python experience (NumPy, Polars, Pandas, SciPy) and comfort with SQL on large datasets. Production-code experience is welcome but not required; a genuine interest in writing, reviewing, and maintaining reliable production code is expected.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex quantitative concepts and optimization trade-offs to technical and non-technical, commercial audiences.

• Senior judgment to scope work, balance short-term fixes with long-term direction, and operate within the constraints of an existing system. We welcome applicants who may not meet every requirement but can still contribute meaningfully.
