Senior Data Scientist

Flix SE is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Data Scientist to join Team Greenrock – Demand Division in Berlin. This hands-on senior role sits within our IT & Engineering group and contributes to the Revenue Management System (RMS), a production system with direct commercial impact. You will play an active role in shaping the next generation of the RMS by applying deep revenue management expertise, collaborating with commercial stakeholders, and working across engineering teams to deliver meaningful, measured improvements in a non-greenfield environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with commercial stakeholders to translate business requirements into well-scoped projects and respond to operational inquiries
• Translate revenue management theory and industry best practices into concrete, testable improvements, from idea and experimentation through production rollout
• Co-own the evolution of the RMS by engaging in regular collaboration with peers across your team and neighboring engineering groups
• Contribute to the technical health, reliability, and observability of the existing system

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
• Solid theoretical foundation in revenue management: demand modeling, dynamic pricing, and network revenue management
• Applied experience with RM or pricing tech solutions in transportation, travel, hospitality, retail, or a comparable domain is a plus
• Strong hands-on Python experience (including NumPy, Polars, Pandas, SciPy) and comfort with SQL on large datasets
• Production-code experience is welcome but not required; a genuine interest in writing, reviewing, and maintaining production-worthy code is expected
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex quantitative concepts and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong judgment in scoping work, balancing short-term fixes with long-term direction, and working within the constraints of an existing system
