Senior Data Analyst – DEM&S Ecosystem Support

About the Role Senior Data Analyst – DEM&S Ecosystem Support will support a major Department of National Defence client in a defense acquisition program to advance the DEM&S engineering data ecosystem. The role involves developing and implementing robust data models, establishing digital data pipelines, defining data formats and data exchange standards, and supporting an agile, phased implementation of an integrated data environment. Close collaboration with systems engineering teams, stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure effective data integration across complex platforms and compliance with current industry standards. What You'll Do

• Design, develop and validate comprehensive data models to support the DEM&S ecosystem, including specifications for data structures, relationships and governance frameworks for complex systems.
• Lead the definition and implementation of digital data pipelines to enable smooth data flow between engineering, modeling, simulation and decision-support environments, in compliance with current data exchange standards.
• Establish and maintain data format and exchange standards (including XML, APIs and data serialization formats) to ensure interoperability across integrated platforms and supplier-provided information.
• Support agile development methodologies in a phased implementation approach, iterating with stakeholders to refine architectures, run pilots and transition to operational environments.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, modeling and simulation specialists, and MDN technical teams to identify critical data needs, assess integration challenges and recommend solutions for complex data exchange scenarios.
• Provide technical guidance on data modelling tools, data quality assurance, metadata management and documentation to support the sustainability of the DEM&S environment.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in science or engineering, with demonstrated expertise in integrated data environments and the architecture of complex systems.
• Training in information technology or information management, combined with significant experience in the design and architecture of DEM&S ecosystems and integrated data environments (IDE).
• Minimum five years of professional experience designing and implementing data models and data-exchange frameworks in large-scale technical environments.
• Proven experience creating and implementing data exchange solutions compliant with current industry standards (ISO, OMG or sector-specific defense standards).
• Advanced mastery of data modeling tools and methodologies (e.g., entity-relationship modeling, semantic modeling, UML or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of data exchange protocols and technologies (XML, API, JSON, data serialization formats).
• Experience with agile development approaches.
