About the Role Senior Credit Officer at AIG will apply Trade Credit risk guidelines to the buyer portfolio to ensure effective risk management and profitability objectives. The role involves analyzing credit, supporting underwriting, and engaging with global committees to set appropriate risk appetite. What You'll Do

  • Perform credit reviews and ORR recommendations for large buyer portfolio with gross exposure of $5MM or greater.
  • Establish aggregate limits within Trade Credit appetite framework to support underwriting production targets.
  • Perform credit reviews and ORR recommendations for Higher Risk and Watchlist Buyers of $10MM or greater (ORR 6 and worse names).
  • Respond to underwriting ad-hoc credit limit review/approvals for renewals/new opportunities.
  • Present risk assessments to Regional Credit Committee and Global Credit Committee where thresholds are triggered.
  • Assist Underwriters with new or renewal buyer portfolios regarding risk, policy structure and mitigation.
  • Initiate or participate in buyer calls/visits to ascertain risk profile and appetite.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure ORR coverage for all buyer names with gross exposure of $5MM or greater; ensure policyholders have ORR rating; ORR aging within guidelines; ensure aggregate limits in place and up-to-date; approvals recorded and materials saved to TradEnable System (TES).
  • Reporting / Portfolio Management: Prepare monthly overdue exposure reports for China book; update Global Watch List/Focus List; respond to ad-hoc exposure inquiries.
  • Credit Management Reviews: Assist underwriters in credit management reviews to rate credit strength of new business or renewal policyholders.
  • Sector Reviews: Undertake sector reviews as deemed necessary.
  • Training and processes: Assist to enhance trade credit risk management practices; prepare and deliver training to local and global colleagues. What We're Looking For
  • Demonstrated credit risk analysis experience focusing on Chinese corporate sector at international banks or credit rating agencies.
  • Experience using market-leading credit risk management portfolio techniques and tools.
  • Understanding of trade credit policies and their risk drivers/mitigants.
  • Working knowledge of trade and export products (receivables, confirmed payables, supply chain finance, guarantees, letters of credit, trade loans, etc.) from a credit risk perspective.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral), presentations.
  • Organizational and project management skills; ability to manage time pressure and competing priorities.
  • Ability to handle a varied workload and portfolio.
  • Proven decision-making skills; interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse internal/external stakeholders.
  • Languages helpful; ability to engage with diverse global teams.
  • Willingness to travel regionally is desirable.
  • Business acumen; ability to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word; basic transactional modelling and forecasting; familiarity with IT packages and institutional systems; knowledge of risk/portfolio management packages is desirable.
