Job title: Senior Controls Engineer
About the Role Johnson Controls seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead the service, design, configuration and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and related low voltage subsystems. The role emphasizes delivering quality, timely results and effective commissioning, while communicating design and operation to customers, consultants, Sales and Service teams, and subcontractors.
What You'll Do
- Design, configure and service technically complex building control systems for the customer facility.
- Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, schedules and electrical schematics as required.
- Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per customer facility requirements.
- Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals, services and/or installation.
- Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned jobs; assist in loading and commissioning of controllers.
- Validate complete system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors and other trades; provide field change information for as-built drawings and software.
- Keep management and stakeholders informed of job progress and issues.
- Assist in site-specific training for owner/operator on the total building control system.
- Participate in coordination and release meetings with sales and service operations; perform value engineering to provide cost-effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- May provide work direction to Service Controls Technician I and Senior I and Senior II Controls Technicians.
- Adhere to safety standards with a strong emphasis on employee and subcontractor safety.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or minimum eight (8) years' experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or service, or HVAC industry.
- Strong communication and coordination skills to interact with customers, consultants, and internal teams.
