Senior Computer Vision Engineer (UAV & Defensa)

About the Role Indra Group is seeking a Senior Computer Vision Engineer (UAV & Defense) to lead advanced perception, navigation, and autonomy capabilities on next-generation unmanned aerial platforms as part of strategic defense programs. You will join a highly technical environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design autonomous systems. What You'll Do

• Design and develop advanced Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Intelligent Perception algorithms applied to UAV platforms.
• Develop solutions for detection, classification, tracking, navigation visual and SLAM using EO, IR and multispectral imagery.
• Define perception architectures and onboard processing systems for next-generation autonomous platforms.
• Actively participate in Systems Engineering activities, contributing to analysis, decomposition and management of requirements, definition of architectures and trade-off evaluation.
• Integrate vision algorithms into real hardware environments, ensuring performance on embedded systems.
• Collaborate in validation and verification activities, including simulations, lab tests and flight campaigns.
• Work with software, avionics, navigation, AI and systems teams to guarantee full system integration.
• Prepare technical documentation and participate in design and architecture reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
• Technically lead AI vision initiatives, providing technical judgment and guiding architecture and development decisions. What We're Looking For
• Degree or Master in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Aerospace or related.
• More than 5 years of experience developing Computer Vision algorithms for navigation systems or autonomous platforms.
• Strong experience in: Python and C++, OpenCV, PyTorch and/or TensorFlow, Embedded AI algorithm development and integration.
• Knowledge in: Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC); Visual navigation and SLAM; Sensor fusion; ROS / ROS2; NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
• Ability to take technical leadership and interact with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders and managers.
