About the Role

Atlassian’s Legal Team is a highly collaborative partner to the business. We’re hiring a Senior Commercial Counsel to support the UK&I region (with flexibility to support other EMEA countries) in drafting and negotiating enterprise customer and partner agreements, partnering with sales and cross-functional teams, and helping drive contract processes and enablement in a remote-first environment.

What You'll Do

• Negotiate enterprise cloud and license agreements for Atlassian's products and services, including master services agreements.

• Work in a tech-forward legal team and partner with sales, deal desk, partner & alliances, privacy, risk and compliance, security, finance, accounting, and product teams to facilitate contract reviews and process improvements.

• Provide pragmatic, business-minded guidance on contract-related issues.

• Develop support materials and provide trainings to educate direct sales and channel teams on contract terms and other legal issues.

• Build trusted relationships with regional sales colleagues, understand business priorities, and proactively suggest solutions.

• Advise business and corporate functions in the region in close collaboration with US and EMEA specialists.

• Contribute to projects improving contract processes and sales enablement.

• What We're Looking For

• UK-qualified solicitor or barrister with a UK law degree (LLB) or GDL and 8+ years PQE.

• Strong experience handling B2B contract negotiations with good commercial, tech, and business acumen.

• Fluent in English; other languages a plus.

• Curious about Atlassian's products, culture, and business model; able to work in an international environment and take on new responsibilities.

• Knowledge of privacy matters, including GDPR; experience in cloud space and tech contracting.

• Comfortable working remotely in a multicultural team.

• Able to think creatively beyond the legal box and ask questions when needed.

• Interest in AI, AI tooling, and legal aspects of AI product features.

• Nice to Have

• Additional legal qualifications in other EMEA jurisdictions.

• Knowledge/experience in other legal areas.

• Experience with public sector customers (public procurement) and financial institutions (FSI regulations).
