Position Summary
UIWSOM is seeking a full-time Senior Clinical Research Coordinator to assist in the oversight and administration of its research programs. The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean of Research.

Description of Job Duties

Provide administrative support to the Office of Research and Innovation. Duties include:
-
Participate as a member and provide support for the Research and Scholarly Activity Committee.

Administer intramural funding programs administered by the Office of Research and Innovation for faculty and student research and for student research-related travel and publications.

Research various extramural sources to identify funding opportunities for faculty and staff. Participates in the preparation of funding applications.

Recruits, instructs, and secures consent of research participants as appropriate. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of research assistants carrying out clinical research protocols.

Promotes safety and confidentiality of research participants at all times, adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Good Clinical Practices, (GCP), Good Laboratory Practices, and the requirements of the UIW Office of Human Research Protection (OHRP) and the Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Documents all correspondence and communication pertinent to the research program. Interacts and communicates with the Principal Investigator(s), site personnel, research participants, subcontracted organizations, and the funding organizations.

Ensures timely dissemination of compelling results through print and television media as well as social media communications about the research team’s achievements.

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Basic knowledge of scientific concepts and research design.

Ability to learn skills in the identification of funding opportunities and preparation of funding proposals.

Must have at least intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook or equivalent.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to multi-task.

Exemplary organizational and administrative skills.

Ability to assist in website management.
-
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
-
Bachelor’s Degree.

Required Work Experience
-
Two (2) years of experience with data collection and management in an administrative capacity.
-
Preferred Qualifications
-
Two (2) years of experience with data collection and management related to research administration.
-
Master’s of Science or Arts Degree.
-
Strong understanding of ethical participant safety considerations, clinical trials operations, and regulatory guidelines and skills and abilities in study and site management, data management, and informatics.
-
Certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator or Grants Manager or willingness to obtain certification within 9 months of hiring.

Previous employment experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator, Grants Manager or equivalent.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

Must have a valid driver’s license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Work Hours
-
Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00 (variable), flexibility for early or late meetings with the research team.

Physical Demands
-
Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve office/event materials.
-
Ability to push/pull event carts/wagons holding up to 50lbs.
-
Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods of time.
-
Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage faculty/staff/donors/guests/(potential/current) students, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
