For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ work experience three (3) years should have been in the grade of Clerical Officer I or in a comparable position;
- KCSE (mean grade C- plus) or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution;
- Pass in Proficiency Examination for Clerical Officers in the relevant option;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and result.
