About the Role The Driver Technician will operate a DOT-regulated vehicle to deliver, install or dismantle Xylem equipment and perform field service at customer sites. The role involves troubleshooting systems, addressing safety issues, and interfacing with customers across multiple sites and technologies. What You'll Do
- Identify or verify equipment delivery or collection with customers and perform inspections, noting any damages.
- Maintain a detailed log of hours of service and utilize Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) per FMCSA guidelines.
- Use motorized equipment handling machinery to safely load and secure equipment on and off trucks and trailers.
- Secure loaded items on the truck for safe over-the-road travel in accordance with FMCSA/DoT guidelines.
- Work flexible hours and extended hours as needed (weekends, overtime and on-call rotations).
- Identify all items to be delivered or picked up with customer to ensure completeness and accuracy; perform visual inspections and obtain customer signatures on paperwork.
- Recognize that duties may be location/site specific and additional duties may be required based on business needs.
- Function effectively in a team environment or with minimal supervision.
- Obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.). What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years CDL experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; Class A license required.
- Tanker endorsement a plus; ability to obtain DOT Medical card after hire; meet FMCSA age requirements; Hazmat endorsement if needed.
- Experience operating heavy industrial equipment such as flatbed trailers, telehandlers, skid steers, air tuggers, etc.
- Basic computer skills and ability to read design documents or layouts. Nice to Have
- Tanker endorsement is a plus.
- Hazmat endorsement (if not already noted above). Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $28 - $32 per hour (USD).
