About the Role
Senior Category Manager – Business Services at PMI Stamford, CT leads strategic sourcing and procurement for indirect spend across U.S. Operations and Corporate Functions. This role owns end-to-end category management, driving value through cost optimization, risk mitigation, supplier performance, and governance, while partnering with senior stakeholders and leading a team of Procurement Managers.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute sourcing and procurement strategies across a broad portfolio of indirect spend categories for U.S. Operations and Corporate Functions.
- Provide end-to-end category ownership, delivering value through cost optimization, risk mitigation, supplier performance, and governance.
- Lead and develop a team of Procurement Managers, providing direct people leadership.
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders across the enterprise to align procurement priorities with business objectives.
- Manage a significant annual spend (approximately $0.8–$1.0B) and oversee relationships with 1,200+ suppliers (about 90% U.S.-based / 10% international).
What We're Looking For
- Proven strategic leadership in procurement and category management for indirect spend.
- Experience managing large multi-supplier spend and diverse supplier base, preferably within U.S. operations.
- Strong partnerships with senior stakeholders and ability to influence cross-functional decisions.
- People leadership experience and ability to build high-performing teams (managing Procurement Managers).
- Knowledge of procurement governance, risk management, and performance metrics.
- Track record of driving cost optimization and delivering measurable value.
