About the Role The Senior Buyer will own purchasing activities for production parts and new model development at HMMA, focusing on supplier safety, quality, cost, delivery, and service. The role drives supplier performance against S-QCDD KPIs, develops the supplier base, and partners with R&D and engineering to optimize cost, quality, and delivery in a fast-paced automotive environment.

What You'll Do

• Track, measure, and improve S-QCDD KPIs for parts.
• Source and manage supply base: prepare RFIs/RFQs for multi-year production quantities; negotiate long-term agreements; lead yearly cost reduction; monitor supplier performance.
• Improve supplier safety, quality, and delivery; write action reports with effective countermeasures for defects.
• Expand expertise in automotive components, supply chain, quality control, and manufacturing processes.
• Communicate results of supplier process audits and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D from initial product development and develop parts with suppliers.
• Formulate and implement yearly commodity and supply base strategy; base decisions on Annual Purchasing Value and other factors.
• Explore technology and best practices in purchasing.
• Evaluate part designs with engineering, quality, and suppliers for optimum efficiency.
• Manage production supplier information and maintain supply base database; perform localization identifying target parts and sourcing local suppliers.
• Align business plan themes and mature negotiation and cost management operating model to support HMMA/HMG.
• Collaborate with internal/external groups; manage stakeholders; resolve issues; perform advanced problem analysis, decision-making.
• Ensure impartial, competitive supplier treatment; conduct cost studies; ensure design changes approved through 4M HMMA process.
• Work with suppliers to optimize processes and implement PDCA countermeasures.
• Comply with BMS, EMS, SMS requirements and other assigned duties.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in purchasing activities related to supplier safety, cost, quality, delivery, and development for production parts.
• Ability to track and improve S-QCDD KPIs; manage supplier safety, quality, and delivery performance.
• Skill in RFQ/RFI preparation, negotiating long-term agreements, and leading cost reduction activities.
• Strong problem solving, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration (R&D, engineering, quality).
• Experience in supplier process audits and implementing corrective actions.
• Knowledge of 4M change control and HMMA processes; ability to approve design changes accordingly.
• Experience with localization and sourcing local suppliers; ability to formulate localization strategies.
• Familiarity with PDCA cycle and continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyze designs with engineering and suppliers to optimize efficiency.
• Strong data management: maintaining supply base information databases.
