Job title: Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist – External Manufacturing Services
About the Role In the Generatorenwerk Erfurt, Siemens Energy produces large electrical generators, propulsion motors, and rotating power stabilizers for global energy supply. You will work closely with production, engineering, quality, logistics and international suppliers. Your day involves aligning technical requirements, coordinating procurement processes and ensuring timelines and costs. You will manage manufacturing services from inquiry to implementation, regularly align with project teams and monitor risks, milestones and supply readiness. In a dynamic, production-oriented environment you will actively contribute to the efficient and reliable execution of complex technical projects.
What You'll Do
- Independently procure external manufacturing services from inquiry through purchase order to delivery tracking
- Select, evaluate and develop suppliers considering technical feasibility, quality, cost and delivery reliability
- Negotiate prices, delivery times and terms, including international context
- Maintain close alignment with production, engineering, quality, logistics and project teams on requirements, risks and milestones
- Ensure adherence to procurement processes, systems and compliance requirements
- Identify and implement measures for cost optimization, risk reduction and stable manufacturing capacity
What We're Looking For
- Completed university degree or comparable technical qualification with long-standing experience in purchasing, supply chain management or project environment
- Technical understanding of manufacturing processes, drawings and specifications; ideally experience in procuring manufacturing services
- Structured, solution-oriented work style with strong communication and assertiveness
- Ability to pragmatically solve technical and organizational challenges and actively remove obstacles
- Proficient in MS Office; ideally SAP knowledge and first experience with digital or AI-based procurement tools
- Very good German and English language skills; enjoy collaboration in an international environment
