About this role

About the Role The Senior Buyer leads the team that manages supplier relationships and aligns with central purchasing strategies to ensure production procurement of hydraulic, pneumatic, and steering systems for CNH’s European plants. You will oversee an external partner for purchase requisitions and sourcing activities, track KPIs such as Ageing and purchase requisition backlog, and drive both tactical and strategic sourcing for critical production parts within the Mechanical commodity group. The role supports new product launches and develops cost reduction and sourcing strategies to improve quality, technology, and on-time delivery. What You'll Do

  • Lead sourcing management and supplier selection for new products with focus on Total Cost of Ownership (piece price, tooling, transportation, packaging) and Quality & Timing.
  • Manage procurement of medium- to high-complexity hydraulic, pneumatic, and steering components for European plants within the Mechanical commodity group; oversee external supplier for purchase requisitions and sourcing with KPIs like Ageing and backlog.
  • Drive Total Acquisition Cost management: identify risks and opportunities for total cost of current products; forecast budgetary impacts of risks and opportunities; assess raw material and economic impact.
  • Support new product launch initiatives; develop and implement cost reduction and sourcing strategies to improve quality, technology, and timely delivery.
  • Forecast, track, and report savings; negotiate price reductions, volume incentives, and long-term agreements; conduct market tests and award new business to maximize leverage.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the Mechanical AG perimeter to align objectives. What We're Looking For
  • Dynamic, organized professional with deep knowledge of the mechanical supplier landscape and the hydraulic/pneumatic/steering systems sectors.
  • Experience leading a sourcing team, managing supplier relationships, and procuring parts for European plants.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute cost reduction and sourcing strategies; strong negotiation and supplier management skills; ability to forecast savings and measure economic impact.
  • Familiarity with KPIs such as ageing and purchase requisition backlog; ability to manage tactical and strategic activities for critical production parts.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, product launch support, and data-driven decision making.
