About the Role We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join Tracker's Business Intelligence Competency Centre at our Johannesburg Head Office. You will lead high-impact analytics, translate business needs into reporting requirements, and deliver executive-level insights to support strategic decision-making. This role emphasizes data credibility, governance, and cross-functional collaboration across the business.
What You'll Do
- Lead high-impact business analysis to convert data into actionable insights (descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive).
- Deliver executive-level insight packs and performance commentary highlighting key drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities, quantify business impact, and guide stakeholders on follow-through actions.
- Translate business needs into clear reporting requirements and support BICC teams in delivering solutions.
- Validate dashboards and reports for accuracy, usability, drill-down logic, and alignment to agreed definitions before release.
- Monitor business performance through KPAs, variances, and exception reporting, recommending enhancements where required.
- Support self-service reporting adoption by coaching stakeholders and improving report usability and understanding.
- Ensure data credibility through reconciliation to source systems, strong documentation, and governance of definitions and assumptions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align KPAs, improve data literacy, and ensure consistent reporting across departments.
- Promote compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the BICC Manager.
What We're Looking For
- Qualifications: MCSA Database Development and MCSA BI Reporting or a bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, business administration, or a related field; proven experience of at least 5 years in a BI Analyst or related position.
- Experience with programming for data analysis (Qlik, Excel, SQL, Alteryx).
- Proven track record delivering insights into leadership decision-making.
- Strong experience with KPA governance and performance reporting.
- Experience working with large datasets.
- Experience documenting business requirements for BI solutions.
- Competencies: deadline-driven, self-motivated, assertive with a strong sense of responsibility; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to collect and compile relevant data; extremely organized with great attention to detail; strong analytical and systematic thinking; strong business analysis skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; thorough understanding of the company’s business processes and the industry at large; ability to handle databases and understand technology-driven BI tools; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects; willing to work additional hours if required.
Nice to Have
- Additional experience with data visualization tools and broader BI tooling beyond the core requirements would be advantageous.
