About the Role Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC seeks a Senior Biomarker Repository Specialist to support a government customer at Ft. Detrick. The role involves helping maintain a biomarker sample repository and executing biomarker verification protocols in BSL-2/3/4 environments. The position is contingent upon contract award and may require CONUS/OCONUS travel.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in development and independent execution of protocols for biomarker verification in collaboration with the project Lead/PI in BSL-2/3/4 environments.
  • Perform experiments including next generation sequencing, Nanostring immunological/inflammatory panels, Luminex-based assays, miRNA quantification, and other molecular diagnostic techniques.
  • Detect etiologic agents in animal and clinical samples; handle small animals as trained.
  • Prepare technical reports and manuscripts; contribute to sample collection/processing from NHP and human matrices.
  • Present protocols and data at weekly meetings; troubleshoot assay/instrument issues with Lead/PI.
  • Manage and maintain a biosample repository; consolidate biomarker data and repository metadata for reports.
  • Train new lab members; supervise assigned lab spaces and ensure safety, functionality, and stocking.
  • Plan and support approximately 5-8 projects per year; contribute to Biomarker Quarterly/Annual Reports; author/revise Biomarker SOPs.
  • Travel as required; BPRP enrollment is required and maintained per contract.
  • Will work with Lead/PIs to establish and maintain responsibility of a biosample repository for biomarker evaluation and verification.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in high-containment laboratories (BSL-2/3/4) and handling of animal and human samples.
  • Proficiency with NGS, Nanostring, Luminex, and miRNA quantification; DNA/mRNA purification; Nanotrap concentration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage biomarker data and repository metadata, and to author/revise SOPs and technical reports.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to train and supervise staff; capable of presenting data at meetings.
  • Willingness to travel CONUS/OCONUS; BPRP enrollment is required.
  • Ability to work with project Leads/PI and adapt to multiple projects (5-8/year).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000-$95,000 per year.
