Senior Backend/API Automation Test Engineer
Project description The Test / Automation Engineer role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining a robust automation framework to support global testing operations. This project aims to enhance engineering productivity, improve testing infrastructure, and ensure high-quality software delivery through advanced automation techniques.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain an automation framework for testing the department's systems globally
- Manage, monitor, and improve the infrastructure
- Develop custom tools and integrate with existing tools to increase engineering productivity
- Define the automation book of work, collaborating with the team to deliver efficiencies and productivity improvements via test automation
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders at all levels across the bank, including international locations
- Comply with test strategy, testing standards, templates, and test plans
Skills

Must have

A minimum of 7.5 years of experience is required, with at least 8 years preferred

Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber

Experience in Backend testing with APIs & Microservices

Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot & Spring

Experience with build tools like Maven or Gradle

Strong scripting/programming skills in Java & Python

Working experience with SQL and UNIX

Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, TeamCity)

Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity, code quality, and testing efficiency
