About the Role Senior Back End Software Engineer will join Motorola Solutions' Avigilon Alta Video backend team. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining the cloud-based backend core of the Alta Video Management System to enable secure, scalable video analytics and real-time insights. The position is hybrid with 2 days in Edinburgh. What You'll Do
- Develop, design, and maintain the backend ecosystem for Alta Video Management System
- Build and operate cloud-based distributed systems that monitor/manage video cameras, access control systems, and sensors
- Develop new features, scale capabilities, and enhance CI/CD pipelines and customer deployments
- Collaborate in an agile environment prioritising quality, security and autonomy
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and ongoing improvements What We're Looking For
- Experience as a software developer
- Experience building backends for large cloud-based distributed systems
- Proficiency with a backend language such as Go, C++, Java, Rust, or Python
- Willingness to learn new languages and technologies; enthusiastic about Go but not required to know it initially
- Passion for writing high-quality code and demonstrates outstanding technical ability
- Good team-player who can work autonomously and seek input when needed Nice to Have
- Understanding of service-oriented architectures and building cloud-based products
