Senior Avaloq Developer

About the Role The Senior Avaloq Developer will design, develop and improve software, utilizing engineering methodologies to deliver business, platform and technology capabilities for Barclays' customers and colleagues. You will contribute to the evolution of our digital landscape and ensure secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions. What You'll Do

• Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions by using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
• Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and actively contribute to Barclays' technology communities to foster technical excellence.
• Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data; implement effective unit testing.
• If in a leadership capacity, advise on policy, set objectives, coach employees, and demonstrate Barclays' leadership behaviours.
• Engage in complex data analysis from multiple sources; communicate complex information to stakeholders.
• Support delivery of Location Strategy projects to plan, budget, quality, and governance standards, driving innovation in Barclays' digital landscape. What We're Looking For
• Masters or Bachelors Degree (preferably in Computer Science/Engineering).
• Experience in application development with Oracle PL/SQL in banking applications; Avaloq knowledge is advantageous.
• Experience in a large IT organization supporting mission-critical systems with heavy batch processing.
• Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL / Avaloq scripting; UNIX knowledge.
• Knowledge of Agile Central and SVN; working knowledge of banking products.
• Experience with Avaloq or other core banking solutions (e.g. Finacle, T24, BaNCS).
• Software development lifecycle expertise.
• Good working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Visio, ServiceNow and Agile.
• In-depth banking domain knowledge across modules like security trading, order management, settlement, corporate actions, credit, payments.
• Leadership experience in Private Banking IT delivery programs is desirable. Nice to Have
• Additional leadership experience and ability to guide cross-functional teams.
