About the Role
- The Senior Associate, Tax will support the delivery of Propetrol’s tax compliance, planning, and advisory activities across its business portfolios.
- The role requires a technically sound professional who can independently manage assigned tax workstreams, maintain accurate records, and provide practical analysis to support business decisions under the guidance of the Tax Lead.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare tax computations, returns, and supporting schedules for review and timely filing.

Track statutory filing and payment deadlines, escalating potential compliance gaps.

Reconcile tax accounts with the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.

Review transactions and documentation to ensure appropriate tax treatment.

Support tax planning and assess the tax implications of contracts, investments, and business transactions.

Research changes in tax legislation and prepare summaries of their business implications.

Support tax audits and investigations by preparing documentation, responding to queries, and tracking outstanding issues.

Liaise with tax authorities and external advisers as delegated by the Tax Lead.

Support cross-border tax reviews, transfer pricing documentation, and related compliance activities where applicable.

Maintain accurate tax records, audit trails, and evidence of filings and payments.

Work with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and operational teams to resolve tax matters.

Support improvements to tax processes and guide junior colleagues where required.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

Relevant professional certification from ICAN, ACCA, or CITN is required.

Minimum of four years of progressive experience in tax compliance, advisory, or corporate taxation.

Experience in energy, oil and gas, commodities trading, or a professional services firm is preferred.

Strong knowledge of Nigerian taxation and statutory compliance requirements.

Working knowledge of international taxation and transfer pricing is an advantage.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.

Salary
N300,000 - N1,000,000 monthly.
